During 1971 through 1973, authors investigated seawater and seabed mud of western coast of Korea for the purpose of to see the distribution of V. psrahemolyticus.
Fellowing results were obtained;
1. Among 614 specimens, V. psrahemolyticus were found in average of 9.8% of specimen; 8.0% of seawater, 9.5% of seabed mud, 9.4% of fresh fish.
2. Serotype of isolated V. parahemolytcus were evenly distributed, but group ¥± and ¥³ were more frequent and K-30, K-17, K-3 and K-36 were isolated.
3. 11.7% of all specimen, biological type 1 were isolated. Such type basically identifiedvpathogen.
4. There are no special relationship between species of fish, frequency of isolation and sero-types.
5. It is found that colicin (500 ¥ì/ml) added 3% NaCl nutrient broth are most satisfactory enrichment media for V. palahemolyticus.
